Our team is led by our Managing Director, Jonathan Freeman MBE, an experienced leader, committed to social justice with a strong track record of delivery.
Jonathan provides strategic consulting support to charities, non-profit organizations, businesses and philanthropists in a wide field of disciplines.
Jonathan has extensive experience of dealing with senior leaders from multiple sectors, with well-developed stakeholder management and influencing skills and the ability to forge strong relationships with key influencers in the most sensitive of environments. A former member of the Senior Civil Service, with extensive experience across the private, charitable, and central and local government sectors, as well as internationally.
Jonathan Freeman is CEO of the CareTech Foundation, the leading corporate foundation in the social care sector. The award-winning Foundation supports and champions the social care sector, care workers and those living in care through its four grant streams. Jonathan is the founder CEO of the Foundation, in post since its establishment in 2017.
Jonathan is also Group Sustainability Director of leading specialist care and education provider CareTech Ltd, the first holder of this role for the company and, indeed, the UK social care sector. Jonathan has overseen the development of CareTech plc’s CARE4 Responsible Business Strategy, by which the company will continue to deliver its powerful social purpose and create value for all stakeholders by managing its business effectively, ethically and profitably.
Jonathan was previously Managing Director of Mosaic, HRH The Prince of Wales’s mentoring charitable initiative, and before that a member of the UK Government’s Senior Civil Service.
Jonathan serves as Chair of Trustees of Carers Worldwide and a non-Executive Director of the National Citizen Service Trust. Jonathan is the founder Chair of the Social Care Sustainability Alliance and Vice-Chair of the cross-sector charitable Championing Social Care initiative. He is a member of the Institute of Health and Social Care Management’s Executive Advisory Council, Patchwork Foundation’s Strategy Council and the Remuneration Committee of St. Anne’s College, Oxford University.
Jonathan was recognised with an MBE for charitable services in Her Majesty The Queen’s New Year’s Honours List 2021.
Jonathan was made a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) in July 2020. Jonathan features in the Social Care Top 30, HealthInvestor POwer50 and received CEO Monthly’s CEO of the Year 2020 – UK award. Jonathan won The Muslim News Awards for Excellence 2016 Award for Championing a Muslim Cause and the Naz Legacy Foundation Certificate of Recognition for his contribution to education, presented by the then Education Secretary.
Jonathan was educated at St. Anne’s College, Oxford University and was Dean’s Scholar at the University of Southern California for his post-graduate studies.
