Jonathan is an experienced leader, committed to social justice with a strong track record of delivery.
Jonathan provides strategic consulting support to charities, non-profit organizations, businesses and philanthropists in a wide field of disciplines.
Jonathan has extensive experience of dealing with senior leaders from multiple sectors, with well-developed stakeholder management and influencing skills and the ability to forge strong relationships with key influencers in the most sensitive of environments. A former member of the Senior Civil Service, with extensive experience across the private, charitable, and central and local government sectors, as well as internationally.
Jonathan was Managing Director of Mosaic, HRH The Prince of Wales's mentoring charitable initiative, which is now a successful part of The Prince's Trust. As Managing Director, Jonathan was responsible for more than doubling Mosaic's income to £1.8M and oversaw significant expansion of Mosaic's work. During Jonathan's tenure, Mosaic supported over 40,000 young people and now counts upon the support of over 1500 volunteer mentors. Jonathan also led Mosaic's international operations, developing successful programmes in Qatar, Jordan and Pakistan, as well as a flourishing International Leadership Programme involving young people for 20 countries. Mosaic's programmes are now accredited, recognised in Department of Education statutory guidance and have won many awards including the Prime Minister’s Big Society Award. Jonathan oversaw Mosaic's successful integration in to The Prince's Trust in July 2016.
Prior to his role at Mosaic, Jonathan was Government Relations Director at Business in the Community, improving the charity's ability to influence social policy and inform decision-makers’ thinking.
Before his move to the charitable sector, Jonathan was a member of the Senior Civil Service in the UK Government, in which capacity he was responsible for significant policy and operational delivery in areas of social justice of the highest importance and political sensitivity in a range of departments including the Ministry of Justice, Cabinet Office and Department for Communities. Jonathan managed a number teams in high-profile areas, a number of which he was selected personally by Government Ministers to establish.
Jonathan serves as a Governor (trustee) of The Legal Education Foundation and Trustee of the Field Lane Foundation. He is Adviser to The British Inspiration Trust and The Great British Community.
Jonathan also sits on various advisory committees in the charitable and public sector, such as the Association of Charitabe Foundation's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion project group and The Scouts Association's Inclusivity Advisory Group.
Jonathan won The Muslim News Awards for Excellence 2016 Award for Championing a Muslim Cause and the Naz Legacy Foundation Certificate of Recognition for his contribution to education, presented by the then Education Secretary.
Jonathan was educated at St. Anne's College, Oxford University and was Dean's Scholar at the University of Southern California for his post-graduate studies.

Earlsbrook Consulting was engaged by CareTech plc to develop the strategic framework and operating model on the establishment of its exciting new charitable foundation, including its governance, focus and resourcing requirements. Earlsbrook Consulting then provided interim CEO services to launch the new Foundation, securing significant meda coverage and stakeholder buy-in for the Foundation's innovative approach to tackling key social issues in the UK and overseas.
Through Earlsbrook Consulting Limited, Jonathan Freeman served as Chief Strategy Officer at the Patchwork Foundation, where he oversees the strategic development and impact of the Foundation's important work to promote and encourage the positive integration of under-represented, deprived and minority communities into British political and civic society. Earlsbrook Consulting Limited oversaw the charitable registration of the organisation and establishment of its new governance arrangements, as well as developing its Theory of Change, Strategic Plan and Fundraising Strategy.

Through Earlsbrook Consulting Limited, Jonathan Freeman served as the Senior Mentoring Adviser to the Careers and Enterprise Company, the Government-backed organisation that exists to join the dots in careers and enterprise provision across England. Jonathan advised the Company on its mentoring campaign strategy following the announcement in June 2016 of a £12m investment fund created to deliver 25,000 additional employer mentoring relationships to help young people at greatest risk of disengaging from education and to roll out a national employer mentoring campaign.
Earlsbrook Consulting was engaged to develop a mentor training programme to support professional development of CIArb's members and encourage recruitment and retention across the sector. Earlsbrook Consulting Limited developed and delivered a comprehensive multi-platform training package as well as back-end systems by which to deliver this international peer mentoring programme to support CIArb's membership offer and commitment to training and diversity.
